Another birthday has come and gone.

Just another year older.  lol  I turned 33 on Saturday.  Eh!  Just another day.  Some people freak out by turning older.  Not me,  I just have fun and say screw it,  we all have to get older and we all have birthdays.  I had a great birthday.  I got my birthday off from work and had lunch with my family at China Moon,  one of my favorites.  Then came home and got my girls ready to go out to my Dad and stepmoms for the night so Steve and I could go out to dinner and a movie.

Steve and I decided on California Pizza Kitchen for dinner and then a movie afterwards,  we saw "The Blindside" with Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw,  What an excellent movie.  I really liked it.  Had a great bday night. The girls had a great time with Grandpa, they camped out with him in his trailer and said they camped out at "Jellystone" park.  LOL

Just a few photos from my bday night :)

Finally some answers...

After all these years of fighting with the schools to get the help that Hannah needs in school,  I finally got the answers I have been looking for.  Now its up to me to do the research to figure out what I can do to help her.  Hannah's school held an IEP meeting a couple weeks ago,  but prior to her IEP,  Hannah went through a lot of testing and also saw a psychologist.  After 2 full weeks of testing the psychologisht and the RSP teacher came to the conculsion that Hannah has Auditory Processing Disorder and that is why she is still struggling with reading.  I took this rather rough at first and left the IEP meeting in tears and cried the rest of the day and was hard on myself.  I want nothing but the best for my kids and I want them to do well in school and I feel that I have failed her somehow.  BUT the team I met with that day was so nice and reassuring and made me feel good about Hannah being in RSP and special needs classes.  I just know how mean and hurtful other kids can be and I just dont want Hannah to be teased and get her feelings hurt.  I know I cant protect her all her life.  But it is still hurtful as her mother to not be able to protect her from being hurt.

So I have started by doing online research and havent found much on this disorder.  But I havent given up and I wont give up.  I also will be going to the library to get some books and do some reading on this and how I can help her.  Now that we are aware of what the issue is , we can make the right steps to get it worked out and fix it.  That makes me happy!  I am proud of Hannah for coming as far as she has and for working as hard as she has.

Quality time..

Quality time is much needed in relationships today. But many fail to define this need and its importance.

*Quality time is essential in building a solid relationship.

*It brings security, comfort and develops understanding.

*The way to practice this is to appreciate one another.

*Show and tell with your actions and behavior how much you admire your partner for his/her good deeds     and qualities.

*Manage the balance of dependence and independence because many partners dislike when there is a tendency to cling, then they feel that they are trapped in the relationship.

*Doing activities together brings joy to both partners.

*Decide and plan outings or intimate dinners and spice up your romance.
